“FROM WHERE I SAT”

To teach is defined as to impart skill or knowledge. When I was growing up, my teachers, I’m sure had excellent abilities to teach, however since learning is an active process, I did not have the desire to acquire their skill or knowledge and I was labeled a “bad kid”. Little did they know (or me for that matter) I was paying attention and so are your students. A presentation for educator groups regarding their impact on ALL students.

“OUT THERE, SOMEWHERE”

Dreams may only be something we wish for, but they give energy and power to the dreamer. This presentation is about turning those dreams into goals. What those goals should look like and encouragement to “go for them“. From one dreamer to another!!

“YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GET TOUGH”

I enjoy a good story. My Dad had a unique way of teaching me life lessons and while I didn’t realize it, teaching me leadership lessons I would use throughout my work life. Entertaining and educational real life experiences from my book, Just Common Sense.

“MY GUYS”

Bobby, Dad Henderson, Mr. U and so many other men that have come and gone through my life. They took their responsibility as mentors seriously and we should too. They have become elevated to my hero’s through the years. Men’s groups and organizations can identify easily with this presentation and so can the women who are looking for real men in their lives.

“I’M A TIGGER”

Through the ages we have sought to understand who people are and why they do the things they do. For that matter, who are we and why do we do what we do?? Incorporated into this entertaining and thought provoking presentation is recent and ancient research into this phenomenon of Personality Types. Understanding them may be the key to effective customer, manager and peer communications.

“A DRIP UNDER PRESSURE”

Expert or Arrogant? Consultant selling is more than being 50 miles from home with a briefcase. Listening, probing, and actually satisfying needs is the art of the consultant. I am another set of eyes and ears for your organization. I don’t bring the baggage of being “your employee” so I can give you accurate observations of my time in the field with your people. If you like what a “straight shooter” has to say, you’ll love this!

“PREPARATION KEY”

Tennis great Arthur Ashe said, “one of the keys to success is self-confidence and one of the keys to self-confidence is preparation“. Nothing takes more discipline, more sacrifice or more hard work than getting prepared. With all that said, I’m a results oriented guy. Unfortunately, a lot of sales people are activity oriented and never get prepared to “do the deed”. This presentation is a, “Ok, activity is required but, lets get it done and get out there,” get off your butt, kick in the pants that a lot of us need and it’s better coming from someone outside the organization. Whew! You’ll like it.

“GUYS LIKE US”

Why would the Lord use Peter, for goodness sake, to build His church on? Didn’t he deny Him? Why would God choose Elijah to confront the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel? Didn’t he run away when a little women threatened him? And this guy could run…remember he outran the chariot. Maybe it’s because they were guys just like us. Full of fears, doubts, problems and pain. Can you see yourself? I can. If He can use them He can use us too. We are perfect actually. Because no one expects much from us then God gets the glory from using us. That’s genius.

“LEARNING STRATEGIES”

I was told for years to take notes, no one ever showed me how. I was told to listen, no one ever told me how. I was told to study, read, take tests, write and the list goes on and on. NO ONE ever told me how! I teach the greatest course at Jackson State Community College I’ve ever seen and it should be shared with school systems, superintendents, teachers, school boards and pupils. I’ll be waiting for your call.

For more information about these presentations or to have me develop a program just for you and your organization, please contact me by phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
